Cookham - cookham.com

Cookham, a picture postcard village, is situated in Berkshire, England. It is located on the river Thames between Maidenhead and Marlow. The famous English painter Sir Stanley Spencer was born there and many of his works depict villagers and village life. His religious paintings often had Cookham as their backdrop. Kenneth Grahame was said to have been inspired by Cookham to write the Wind and the Willows, as he lived in the village as a child. The Thames Path passes through the village and it is a favourite place for tourists and walkers. The website is very active and interactive so everyone in the village can have their say, see what's on and so acts as a good source of up to date information.
